Short version: works.bhavvesh.in sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The only things we store in your browser are your theme preference and your answer to the cookie notice, and neither ever leaves your device.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — do a similar job. Together they let a site remember something between page loads.

What this site stores

Strictly necessary — local storage

  • bw-theme — records whether you chose the light or dark appearance, so the site does not flash the wrong one on your next visit. Stored locally, never sent to our servers, no expiry until you clear it.
  • bw-consent — records the choice you made on the cookie notice, so you are not asked again on every page. Stored locally, never sent to our servers.

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No third-party analytics cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels.
  • No cross-site fingerprinting or device identification.

We show a short notice on your first visit so you know what is stored rather than having to take it on trust. Because the two entries above are strictly necessary, choosing Essential only and Accept all cookies currently do exactly the same thing — there is no third-party category to switch off. If we ever add one, it will be off until you say otherwise, and this page will say so before it ships.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent — to deliver pages and to detect abuse. These are not cookies and are not used to identify you. See the Privacy Policy for retention details.

Third-party content

Portfolio thumbnails are served from bhavvesh.in, and outbound links point to platforms such as GitHub and LinkedIn. Once you follow an outbound link, that platform’s own cookie practices apply. We do not embed third-party scripts, fonts or iframes on this site.

Controlling storage

You can clear site data at any time through your browser’s privacy settings. Doing so removes the theme preference and your notice choice; the site will then follow your operating system’s appearance setting and ask once more. Nothing else on the site depends on stored data, so blocking it entirely will not break anything.
